About My Room Abroad
My Room Abroad is a housing platform helping international students find their room, studio, apartment, or accommodation in Taiwan.
Everything started back in 2015. The destinations of the exchange semester were just released at the university. The founders of My Room Abroad were thrilled to live in Taiwan for a semester. Although they had different destinations, both had the same painful experience finding a room abroad in Taipei.
That is when they realized how complicated of a process it really was to find short-term rentals from trustworthy landlords. They faced many obstacles in their search for short-term accommodations in Taipei. In the end they found a nice shared apartment, but it was not without a lot of pain and stress.
That is when they decided they wanted to help future internationals students studying abroad in Taiwan. They wanted to simplify the process of finding short-term or monthly housing and accommodations for them so that they could live their experience in Taiwan to the fullest without housing worries. Almost two years later, after they both graduated, they decided to bring the project to the next level. They developed a housing platform to connect international students with trustworthy landlords in Taiwan and My Room Abroad was born in February 2017.

International students are accompanied from the booking of their room to their moving out date. Moreover, they benefit from My Room Abroad’s community of international students. Through this community, the right Facebook groups and events, they can meet like-minded people, who will ultimately become a family abroad on this life-changing adventure. This will allow every international student to create his or her personal mix of adventure, traveling and networking.
