The Pingxi Lantern Festival is one of the best events for international students in Taipei. It should appear on the top of your to do list in Taipei. However, if you don’t read this article you might miss all of it!
The Pingxi Lantern launches are not at Pingxi Station! Pingxi Station is known as THE place to launch your sky lanterns all year around. However, the interesting part of the Pingxi Lantern Festival are the 8 Disney-like collective launches of lanterns. And they are a few kilometers away from the station.
Many international students who want to go to the festival end up missing the most important part. So if you are not going to the festival with the My Room Abroad team members, here are the indications you need to know to be in the most magical part of the festival.
During the Sky Lantern Festival in 2018, there will be 5 collective launches of about 80 to 150 lanterns. The launches are planned between 5.30pm to 8.30pm. The launches will take place at the Shifen Sky Lantern Square. According to FocusTaiwan, you can get free tickets from event planners if you would like to be part of the collective launches. The distribution of tickets starts at 10 am.
